Costacurta

Guido Costacurta is a young wine entrepreneur who has taken a wonderfully pragmatic route into the world of wine.  

Having caught the wine bug, he offered his labour into the trade and found that, whilst he may have the potential to become a great winemaker, he already possessed the skills to identify undervalued terroir, and to conceptualise his wines.  
So, in 2019 he scratched the itch and found 3 hectares of mature Nebbiolo vineyard in the Alto Piemonte, straddling Ghemme and Sizzano.  
To the south are the paddies of Novara and to the north the Monte Rosa Mountain range; the terroir is typical of these appellations, a patchwork of topsoils left by ancient glaciers, as they retreated over largely limestone bedrock, which gives a  remarkable freshness to his wines.
Guido works with Paolo Cominoli, an established (and excellent) producer of Sizzano.
Paolo has the equipment and skills required for vineyard and cellar work; Guido has a great man in his corner.
