    What we do with the information we gather:

    We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service. We may use the information to help us improve our selections and services, or to customise the website according to general interests.

    We do not use your personal information for any use other than order fulfilment and internal record keeping.

    We may periodically send emails keeping you aware of any events, offers or changes to our wine list, using the email address which you have provided, if you have requested this.

    From time to time, we may also contact you for market research purposes; by email, phone or mail. Where you submit feedback for publication on our website, we may publish and otherwise use this in our marketing.

    We may share this information with any of our employees or subcontractors insofar as is reasonably necessary for order processing anc our mailings purposes.  We never have and will not share your information with any other companies unless we are required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings or should we need to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights, including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk.

    If you have agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may update your preferences or be removed at any time, by amending your own subscription details, contacting us in writing or by emailing us at post@batwine.uk.

     

    Security

    Details of your orders will be kept on your record within our website* and will be available to you and Bat and Bottle only. This will be stored on our secure password and firewall-protected servers, encrypted using SSL technology (please also see Shopify’s and Xero's privacy policies).

    You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. We will only ever ask you for your password when you log in to our website.

    We have made every effort to ensure that Bat and Bottle provides a fully secure link for credit card payments (through Shopify). In addition, the details of your credit card or bank account are not held on record anywhere on the internet unless you have selected to saved your payment details to Shopify, Shop or GoCardless.

    Please be aware that data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure and we cannot guarantee the security of any data sent via the internet.

    Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.
