Collection: Carlo Revello

La Morra.  Piemonte

Carlo Revello is housed in a practical new cellar in the hamlet of Santa Maria.  Carlo and Mariarosa work alongside their son Erik, who has been handed responsibility for the winemaking, and has a young family, he is more than aware of his good fortune, which drives his desire for excellence.

The Revello family could mark the end of the WW 2 as their entry into wine, when they moved to La Morra.  Successive generations bought vineyards, tried a restaurant and finally brothers, Carlo and Lorenzo, split the business to make space for their children to thrive.  The land accumulated is enviable, Lorenzo has 10ha in La Morra and Carlo 7ha.  Carlo’s land is on the La Morra MGAs of Rocche dell’Annunziata, Giachini, Gattera, Boiolo, Bricco Manescotto and Conca, he also rents 5ha (shared equally with his best friend) in Serralunga.

Erik studied oenology in Alba, he is gradually taking an enlightened wander into the past, reintroducing large barrel ageing and spontaneous fermentations.  The winery is well equipped, plenty of elbow space and various sizes of steel tank to ferment each individual cru
