Neri. Sizzano 'Vibia Earina'
Sizzano DOC
Grape: Nebbiolo (60%), Vespolina (10%), Uva Rara (30%)
Ripe berry fruit, rose and a touch of spice on the nose. Luscious, ripe, silky tannins, black cherry fruit, this Nebbiolo is marked by Vespolina’s spice and Uva Rara’s moderating gentle character. An open, complex style, more willing to please than many of Alto Piemonte’s wines. 13%

Sizzano is a tiny and historic DOC of just 7 hectares, squeezed between Ghemme to the north and Fara to the south. Sizzano makes some of the softest and spiciest of all Nebbioli, thanks to the enforced addition of Uva Rara and Vespolina. This combined with comparatively lush Morainic clays give more opulent, broader tasting wines.
Neri harvested the 2018 by hand in the second part of October, it was a warm vintage with good rainfall, no stress for the vines and little disease pressure. The fermentation used selected yeasts, no temperature-control and the wine remained on the skins for 30 days before being pressed out and aged for 6 months in steel tanks and 2 years in Botti*.
