2020 was different: winter brought snow to the mountains and spring brought coronavirus, a gift to the natural kingdom, which bathed in the pure, unpolluted air. No cars, no planes, peace…
The clear skies let unfiltered sun bathe the earth, the scent of flowers was wonderful; vines, olive trees all experienced a moment of joy… until June, lockdown was eased and the rain came, making biodynamic treatments less effective than usual.

Fortunately July and August were lovely and the condition of the grapes was excellent.
The harvest was on 6th and 29th September. Bunches de-stemmed using a manual, ‘framed chicken-wire’ system. The grapes were then foot trodden and fermented using a pied-de-cuve* in open tubs, without temperature control. The wine was aged for a year in mostly old barrique, less than 5% in new barrique, and bottled unfiltered.
