Zeni (Roberto). Sauvignon Blanc 'Ronchi di Piazzole'
Zeni (Roberto). Sauvignon Blanc 'Ronchi di Piazzole'
Sauvignon Trentino DOC
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
A really expressive Sauvignon, cut grass and asparagus, green peppers and ripe tropical fruit, the curves are all in the right places, it tastes extremely lovely and very natural (I don't mean that it tastes like a 'natural' wine, it doesn't!). 13.5%

This is another take on Sauvignon, the grapes are exclusively from the ‘Ronchi di Piazzole’ vineyard but it is picked twice, first in late October when the grapes are barely ripe but laden with fresh citrus flavours and again three weeks later when the sugars and kiwi to ripe lemon flavours have developed. Each harvest is macerated on the skins before being individually presses and fermented. The early harvest goes through malolactic fermentation, the second does not. In January the two wines are blended and around five percent spend a short time in barrique prior to the cuvee being arranged, given some time to stand and finally bottled in the spring.
