Lis Fadis. Friulano 'Sbilf'
Lis Fadis. Friulano 'Sbilf'
Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali DOC
Grape: Friulano
A touch of wild honey, almond and kiwi fruit, an attractive herb and white rose character. A dry, classic Friulano with some weight and complexity, better with food than as an aperitivo.
This has been in the warehouse for a while and I have enjoyed checking a bottle every now and then. We opened one recently (11/25) and poured 2 x 20cl bottles (for later), it is clean, fresh, the colour is surprisingly pale, far younger tasting than I expected. The 20cl bottles that we enjoyed a few days later were better than when first opened.

Lis Fadis Producer Page
Eight clones of Tocai Giallo have been planted including 300 vines of Tocai Giallo di Peduncolo Rosso.
The vines were planted in 2006 on terraces between 150 and 180 metres with a south-west exposure. Topsoils are marl, with a large proportion of sand on limestone.
All work in the vineyard is by hand, the harvest is collected in small crates and every bunch is inspected first in the vineyard and then on the brightly lit, vibrating selection table.
Some of the grapes are pressed, held cold for a day and fermented in concrete tanks whilst the remainder ferment on their skins in oak vats for four to five days.
The two parts are then moved to a cement vat and matured for twenty months with regular stirring.
After bottling the wine is stored for a further twelve months before being released.
Production 2500 – 3000 bottles.
