2022 was a hot vintage and this wine stands apart with ripe white peach and orchard fruit, a generous underlying power enveloping this complex, focused dry white. I suspect it will peak a little earlier than usual, it is quite exquisite now.  13%

Erbaluce is amongst Piemonte’s wonderful, rare treasures.  A grape variety gifted to humanity by Albaluce, daughter to the Sun and the Dawn, that now, can only be named in its homeland of Caluso.  This ensures exclusivity and rarity, not fame, which makes it quite irresistible.  We have a mild obsession with this variety and believe this to be the best.

Tredicimesi comes from Vigna Cavaina (1.7ha), a vineyard planted in 1992 and 2001 on morainic soils with a high proportion of stones and sand, using a traditional Trentino-style Pergola training system.  

The grapes are hand-picked and destemmed, cold-macerated for a day before a temperature-controlled fermentation using selected yeasts.  Two thirds of the wine is aged in concrete ‘eggs’ for 10 months, a third in used barriques for 13 months.
