The level of concentration and tannin is up a notch from the Riserva. There is a real vibrance and tension to the wine, some oak on the nose, remarkable bright fruit, flint and elegance. 15%
Since 2009 the Petresco has been bottled as Toscana IGT, almost as a protest against Gran Selezione.
This is a wine made from a selection of grapes taken from the highest vineyard (which also hosts solar panels). From 1997 it was a selection from allof the vineyards, until 2004 when it became the monopole it is now.
The wine spends 2 years in barrique, 1 in concrete and 1 in botti.
