The Black Label Piculìt Neri is a wonderfully rare wine, one that has evolved over the years.  We used to call it ‘Barrique’, but as it is no longer aged in barrique the name must change; the wine now ages for 2 years in a single, upright, 1hl Garbellotto barrel, made from French oak.

The grapes are from the ‘La Santissima’ vineyard in Pinzano, the soils here are a mix of sand, clay and silt and the vines were Guyot trained at a density of around 4000 vines per hectare.  The grapes were hand-picked in small crates, de-stemmed and fermented using selected yeasts in temperature-controlled ‘Ganimede’ steel tanks; skin contact for 10 days.  The wine was bottled in February 2025.
