Collection: La Torre

Calvagese della Riviera, Lombardia (western shore of Lake Garda)

La Torre is named after a strategic medieval tower once stood atop of the ridge, that marks the farms western border.  Originally built as a convent, the farmhouse has now been home to the family for almost 100 years.
Lorenzo is now at the helm, fully hands-on, a bundle of energy, he has worked at La Torre since 2016, he is obsessive about the local vine: Groppello di Mocasina (rock-climbing and his dogs), something he shared with his father Attilio, who was instrumental in modernising the vineyard systems, introducing high-density planting and complimentary crop cover between the rows of vines.
The farm is 23h, with 13ha of vineyard planted stony soils; mainly with Groppello, but also Marzemino, Barbera, Sangiovese, Rebo, Chardonnay and Riesling.  Lorenzo’s main activity is as a ‘vignaiolo’ (grape grower), wine is a relatively small activity; just 8000 bottles a year.  His approach is open and thoughtful, making pure wines without ego.
