Villa Era. Spanna Rondò

Grape: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Vespolina, Croatina

Fresh red berry and tobacco, fresh mint and tar.  A good, easy, slightly spiced dry full red.  13.5%

 Named after an oak, encircled by a stone seat on the hill above the Villa, this is Villa Era’s ‘second’ wine.
There are a couple of Barbera vines in the amphitheatre, plus a few Vespolina and Croatina, all of which are included in the pressing. This wine is aged in oak and steel 50/50, made to be a more forward-drinking wine, in order to release part of their tiny production earlier into the market. Although this is a really good wine, I do not consider it a patch on the Villa Era.
