A mild start to the spring with good rainfall in March. A hot and dry summer. Good rainfall at the beginning of October ensured a slow maturation. 13.5%

Burgundy has it's Crus, Etna has Contrada.  Each Contrada is unique, its qualities formed by the exposure, graditient, altitude and geological formations.  

Sciaranuova is at 730m with a Southwest to Northwest exposure, the average gradient is 8.5%.  The volcanic rock is between 40,000 and 4000 years old.
