Bulfon. Cianorie
Bulfon. Cianorie
Cianorie Trevenezie IGT
Grape: Cjanoríe / Cianorie
Pure raspberry and ripe black cherry fruit. Violet and rose, even Turkish delight aromas. There is almost no tannin, this is disarmingly easy to drink. 12.5%
A variety that has never been intensively cultivated and were it not for Bulfon would have faded into extinction. The taste is not dissimilar to better known northern varieties like Marzemino and Schiava: good acidity, ample ripe fruit and lowish levels of tannin, in short, excellent drinking wines.
Much of the vineyard was planted in 2000, using a Guyot system at a density of 4000 vines per hectare. The soils are sandy, with about a third silt and a quarter clay.
The vines are harvested by hand in September, de-stemmed, and fermentation and ageing is in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for around 2 weeks, with some pumping over to extract colour.
