The Granite Post. Albarino
Rias Baixas DO
This is a medium bodied Albarino with a lovely weight and minerality, dry and crisp white with apricot and baked apple underlying its citrusy tones. 13%
This wine was too good an offer for us to miss, hence a Spanish wine appearing as a guest on our list. Our old friend, Robert of Poujol has relocated to Spain and taken over this cellar to produce The Granite Post.. The vines are probably between 60 and 100 years old, they are huge, all are within the Salnes sub-zone of Rias Baixas. The wine is fermented and aged in large, 2500 litre barrels, the aim being to make a more 'Burgundian' style wine. 2016 is a classic vintage, that remains fresh and with elvolve in a good way for a couple of years to come.
The new vintages (2021+) will be closer to £20 a bottle.
