Chianti Classico DOCG
Grape: Sangiovese
A powerful vintage that leans more to deep, dried fruit, smoke and spice than the floral elements found in cooler vintages. In many ways this has a Brunello like structure and warmth. 14%
It is with good reason that this is considered a thoroughbred Chianti. It is a pure Sangiovese taken from the eight different vineyard sites. The vines are grown organically on typical Tuscan galestro, a mixture of stone, sand and clay over limestone. The grapes are picked by hand and fermented using wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in large Slavonian botti for 24 months before bottling.
