Broilo. Ribolla Gialla
Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC
Grape: Ribolla Gialla
A powerful, spicy Ribolla with a real weight of apply fruit, delicate citrus and floral flavours with a touch of pepper and minerality. 13%
These Ribolla Gialla vines were planted in 2000, they are a massal selection in line with Broilo’s devotion to the heritage of their land. There is under half a hectare on a South East facing slope, planted using a Guyot system at a density of 4000 plants per hectare.
The wine is made slightly differently each year, the vintage determines Massimo’s ambitions. The harvest is always made by hand and the grapes are sorted, de-stemmed and pressed. In 2013 half of the must was fermented in steel and half in tonneaux with skin contact. The wine is then transferred into steel tanks for thirteen months in contact with fine lees.
