Fiano di Avellino DOCG
Fresh, floral, tangerine and open lemon fruit, a subtle touch of jasmine and lily make this a wonderfully appealing and pretty wine.
The Fiano is grown in the Lapio area of Avellino at an altitude of five hundred and fifty meters. The soils are a mixture of clay and sand and mostly on limestone. The gradient means that the vineyards are planted at little more than three thousand plants per hectare and a Guyot system is used. The vines are between ten and twenty years old and yields are in the region of fifty hectolitres per hectare.
The grapes are picked by hand in the middle of October and given a gentle pressing, only the free run juice and the first part of the pressing is used. The must is fermented and aged in temperature controlled tanks and given a light filtration before bottling.
