This is like the trailer for a great Tawny port, explosive nut, date, sweet, fat honeyed fruit, (pure Christmas cake in a glass), but it is unfortified, pure and natural, none of the alcohol burn, just spectacular.
A passito of Verdicchio named after Stefano and Elena (st-ell). The bunches are tied to wires in the drying room for four months. The fermentation is in steel at a controlled temperature and the wine is then aged for two years in tonneaux (500ltr barrels). This is the Marche’s answer to Tawny Port.
