Conte Emo. La Montecchia 'Fior D'Arancio' Spumante
Fior d'Arancio Spumante Colli Euganei DOC
A wine that never fails to amuse, joyous orange blossom with feisty, fresh grape flavours and just a touch of subtle lemon and grapefruit. 5.5%
Made entirely from Moscato Giallo, a vine that has been grown in the volcanic hills of the Colli Euganei for centuries.
This wine is made in the same way as a Moscato d'Asti and some credit must go to Andrea Faccio of Villa Giada, an expert on the genre who helped with the development of this wine.
The vines are Cordon trained and yield 7000 kg/ha. The grapes are picked by hand then chilled to 0.5å¡ before being soft pressed. The must starts to ferment at 10å¡C until the correct atmospheric pressure is reached, it is then left to stand for 15 days at -2å¡C.
The name Fior d'Arancio comes from a gentle hint of citrus fruit, the hallmark of this yellow Moscato, which is typical of the volcanic soil in the Euganean Hills. (Total acidity: 6.50 - 7 g/l)
