The vineyard is 8 hectares, half of which is planted with Aglianico. The vines were planted in 2005 and 2012, there is a small part ‘Toppola’ which was planted in 1982 and 1983. The altitude is 380m, the slope faces from south to southwest. The soils are rich in sulphur with generous clay and chalk in the topsoils. The Greco vines are Guyot trained at a density of 3000 plants per hectare which yield 70 hectolitres per hectare. Ferrante sees Serrone as ‘the hooligan’, immensely talented, but unpredictable in youth and brilliant if given time to mature.\u003cbr\u003eThe harvest is by hand in the middle of October with the pick of the crop selected for this single cru wine.
