Le Sincette. Valtenese Chiaretto
Riviera del Garda Classico DOC
Grapes: Groppello, Marzemino, Barbera
All raspberry and lime on the nose, this rose opens into wild strawberry, pear and bitter cherry flavours, with elements of salt and wild herb - intriguing and refreshing, an extraordinary wine. 12.5%
Chiaretto was a deeply coloured rosé, though that is a hard wine to find now as contemporary tastes have squeezed the colour out, leaving a pale pink.
The vineyards are farmed using a strict and authorised biodynamic system.
The vines are Guyot trained at a density of around 6500 vines per hectare which usually yields 70 hl/ha.
The grapes are picked by hand early in September, then all pressed together allowing the briefest skin contact. The juice is then decanted into amphora, used-barrique and steel for a spontaneous fermentation with no temperature-control.
