Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC
Grape  Nebbiolo

Supple and forward fruit, ripe tannins with the gentlest grip, classic; rose, bramble and plum flavours.  I like the 2018 very much, it doesn’t take itself too seriously.  14%

This is the blueprint for Nebbiolo d’Alba: organically farmed vineyards (status: under conversion) on sandy clays at an altitude of 200m in the communes of Castellero and Mombello. These vines were planted in 1970 using a simple, low density (2400 plants per hectare) Guyot system.
The harvest is carried out by hand, grapes are transferred to the winery in small crates. Fermentation is in steel and cement tanks while malolactic conversion and ageing is in Slovenian oak botti (40hl) for 8 months. The wine is bottled and aged for at a minimum of 8 months in bottle before its release.
