Collection: Oreste Buzio

The Buzio family purchased Cascina Dietro Castello in 1796, it has been shared out over the generations and now it is a very beautiful, 5 hectare farm that Oreste Buzio works with his sons; Marco and Andrea; both also have full-time jobs outside of the family wine business, which is a true labour of love, a direct link to their family history.

Vignale Monferrato is a picture-perfect hilltop village, which is both blessed and cursed with one of Piemonte’s more unusual red grapes: Grignolino an individual and unusual variety worthy of celebrating.

Oreste Buzio is totally committed to organic farming, not as a box ticking exercise, rather an unselfish respect for the health of their ecosystem.  The winery and home contain UNESCO protected cellar larders, the winemaking equipment embraces the old and new, fortunately Andrea is an oenologist and has an excellent understanding of the science behind, what could be mistaken for, a haphazard system.
