Collection: Montori

Controguerra, Abruzzo

This is a historic farm that has been owned and worked by the Montori family since 1862. There are 50 hectares of vines and 5 of olive groves and there is an appealing simplicity to everything; the cellar is functional, combing ancient techniques with modern innovation and invention. The land around the cantina* is flat, where the lighter soils are suited to white varieties and lighter reds. The sparsely covered hillsides produce the quality of fruit required for the Fonte Cupa wines.

Their proximity to the sea and the mountains of the Gran Sasso ensure constant, cooling breezes. Camillo is a quietly spoken, modest man with a great understanding of his surroundings; a founding father of the Colline Teramane DOCG and a true advocate for Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. He has now taken a back seat and is usually to be found in the vineyards amongst the workers. His vision is held true by his daughters, Laura and Beatrice.
