Villa Giada. Monferrato Bianco 'Mane'
Monferrato Bianco DOC
Mané is the name given to a small hill just below the cellar, it was planted with Chardonnay by Andrea's grandfather. The hill looks a little odd since only the part owned by the Faccio family is planted. There is also a little Cortese in the wine which perhaps freshens it a little.
Lemon and greengage, lightest touch of oak, a beautifully rounded and fine wine.
A touch of buttered toast on the nose, the fruit has a lovely mineral grip and attractive lime and melon tropical flavours, a fresh and appealing release.
In style this really isn't that dissimilar to a decent Macon villages; quite full buttery fruit, some barrique flavours of toast carefully balanced against the weight of the vintage.
Restrained toast and tropical fruit with lime, pineapple and apple fruit, quite mineral, perhaps a touch of elderflower. A fine and balanced wine.
Chardonnay with a dash of Cortese (15%) all polished with tonneaux.
