The 2018 is our (Robson family) house red at the moment (March 2021), I recommend decanting it as it is not filtered and there is some sediment, it is seriously lovely - the odd bottle has a spritz of CO2, if this is not to your liking then gently aggrivate the wine and leave is for half an hour and hey presto, it will have no CO2.

Glorious plum, raspberry violet and damson on the nose.  Beautifully pure fresh fruit, dark, ripe, real, with an edge of flint.  There is a lot to this wine, it has a natural, unforced feel to it.  13%

No Agramante was made in 2018 so all of the best grapes went to the Motta del Lupo.

The vineyard is planted at 5000 vines/Ha using a 'cordone speronato' system. Two kg of fruit are taken from each vine, the Sangiovese and Bombino are picked first in the middle of September, then the Montepulciano and finally the Nero di Troia.
Fermentation is in steel tanks and lasts seven days with a regular pumping over.
The wine is aged for six months in steel and bottled with a light filtration.

I read somewhere that in local dialect Cacc’e Mmitte means something like ‘pour it, drink it and go again’, the Lucera bit refers to the very lovely local ancient city. Right or wrong, the translation is apt; this is epic drinking and a wine that truly flatters food.
