The heart of the Cabernet Franc vineyard was re-planted in 2003 and 2004, the new vines have already eclipsed the old in the quality of wines produced, and this is an excellent spot for the vine.
It ripens fully here and has all the minty fruit that cabfranc fans crave, with layers and bramble and cassis fruit and a lovely, almost citrus, freshness.
Until the 2010 vintage there were two Godimondo wines released, one was Carménère and the other Cabernet Franc, now Godimondo always refers to the latter.
