Stefano Mancinelli. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Santa Maria Fiore'
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore DOC
There is not much of the 2014 left, it is really good wine (I may let a little of the 2015 into the bin end offer if the take up is too high).
Pear, lychee and white flower aromas, beautifully textured with wild honey and candied lemon, grapefruit and ripe herb. The flavours linger and develop well after the glass has emptied; a complex and delightful, mineral wine.
Verdicchio is an excellent grape, perhaps Italy’s best. Stefano Mancinelli's is a fine ambassador that always combines green apple freshness with fine structure and alluring layers of honey and almond.
The two Verdicchio wines are taken from the same vineyards and made pretty much the same way. The difference is that this wine is made from a selection of the oldest and the best vines.
