Broccatelli Galli. Bianco
Grapes: Grechetto, Trebbiano and Chardonnay.
A great little crisp, dry white, the only problem is that Broccatelli are moving the fruit to other wines and this is the last Bianco (for now…)
Pure refreshing citrus fruit flavours, pink grapefruit, a little lychee and almond.
The exact assemblage changes according to the vintage, Grechetto being the backbone with Malvasia acting as junior partner and Chardonnay providing structure if required.
The vineyards are owned by Broccatelli e Galli and most of the grapes for this wine come from the vineyards surrounding their agriturismo near Torgiano. It is a beautiful, well aired and well drained slope with views across the valley to Assisi.
The grapes are picked by hand and transported to the winery in small plastic containers, then cooled for a brief maceration; the fermentation utilises indigenous yeasts (wild yeast fermentation). Malolactic fermentation is blocked, the object being to preserve all the fresh primary flavours.
